The EGeMSE is co-organised by the UEMS Geriatric Medicine Section and the British Geriatrics Society, with support from the EuGMS

2025 European Training Requirements
2025 European Training Requirements (ETR) in the Specialty of Geriatric Medicine have now been published by the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).

European Training Requirements Geriatric Medicine
- The European Training Requirements Geriatric Medicine were approved at the UEMS Council Meeting on 17 October 2020 and are due for review this year.
- The updated ETR work led by Professor Roman Romero Ortuno has reached its final stages and is due to be submitted to the UEMS council for ratification at the UEMS autumn council meeting 2025. The updated ETR will appear here once ratified
- The European Geriatric Medicine Specialist Exam (EGeMSE) has been established. The EUMS-GM section and EUGMS have collaborated with the Federation of Royal Colleges of the United Kingdom and the British Geriatrics Society in achieving this landmark exam for Europe. This is a voluntary European examination in Geriatric Medicine. We would encourage potential participants and others to explore the EGeMSE website. Links to resources to support preparation for the exam will appear here. More information is available on the website
